Michel Mandron collection
Michel Mandron immigrated to Quebec in 1956. From 1967 to 1988, he was the administrative director of the Montreal Clinical Research Institute. A self-taught sculptor in his spare time at first and then after his retirement, he embarked on creating miniature airplanes, building a collection of over 180 models at 1/36 scale which cover the history of aviation from its debut to World War II.
This remarkable body of work enchanted many aviation enthusiasts and visitors of all ages. It is also a rich source of information with detailed anecdotes and specifications for every airplane.

I showed the entire collection for the first time in the summer of 2017, at the Kateri Chapel of the Annunciation Church in Oka, Quebec, and in Piedmont for Les journées de la culture 2019. I produced the design, texts and website for the exhibit.
